Administration

20-11-2009 at 14:22

Sometimes running a business means spending many hours on sorting through paper work - keeping up to date with book keeping - income and expenses. It means writing and reading tonnes of emails. Doing lots of research, keeping up to date and always trying to push yourself to learn new skills and strive to be better at whatever you do.

But it also means listening to lots and lots of music. Many hours spent at the desk staring at monitors. It means fun pub lunches with friends, coffee breaks to talk to your brother about everything that’s going on or changing. It means no commuting in the mornings, money saved on petrol and car use.

The lifestyle can be really hectic at times despite barely leaving one room. You just have to figure out if you have the drive to do it, and if the benefits outweigh the negatives for you before you really try it.

Personally, I love it.

Price Transparency

16-11-2009 at 10:39

Upon some careful consideration I have decided to make my prices transparent. This is to encourage people to carefully think about their project before they get in touch, to also scare off people that want something for nothing (as that sort of relationship is impossible - of course unless they are mates in the first place).

Also I’m quite careful with my finances and book keeping so I figure I may as well encourage the curious out there to get in touch and see if we can work together.

DEADlines

12-11-2009 at 15:30

What a tight week this is. 3 big deadlines for the start of the week, and 2 for tomorrow. Stress ensues!
Time management does not fix things at times like this when you’ve stupidly agreed to far too much. And it does happen ever so easily

Completed!!!

08-11-2009 at 11:59

So I’ve finally managed to force enough time aside to complete this here website of mine.
It took me the best part of 3 days this week to get everything sorted - put together some samples of my work and learn a few tasty bits of jquery use to make things look supreme and shiny.

I hope everyone or anyone who reads this likes what I’ve done!

Actual work samples coming soon!

02-11-2009 at 23:46

It’s true! I am indeed a practicing freelance designer, but as such I have had absolutely no time to actually sort out displaying my work on this here website.
I hope to have changed this situation by the end of the week - provided everything goes to plan…. as always.
